Maher Tadros, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln professor of civil engineering, is transforming bridges and other structures with inventions that expand the strength, versatility and utility of concrete. One example is the NUTie, used to create strong, thin, energy-efficient walls. UNL worked with a Nebraska manufacturer and now the NUTie is commercially available and is being used in building construction world-wide.
